Christofer Johnsson (born August 10, 1972 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish metal musician and music producer . Richard Wagner and Slayer's album Reign in Blood are among his main musical influences .

At the age of eight, Johnsson learned to play the flute; he actually wanted to play the drums, but state schools in Sweden require students to play the flute for a year before they are assigned another instrument. He stopped learning to play the drums after a year because he couldn't practice at home. Johnsson started playing bass when he was 15. In 1987 Johnsson founded the metal band Blitzkrieg with Peter Hansson and Oskar Forss, which broke up in 1988, was reformed under the name Megatherion and shortly thereafter renamed Therion . He later played in the bands Carbonized (guitar, vocals), Liers in Wait (vocals), Messiah (vocals) and founded the band Demonoid (vocals). He is also the founder of the now defunct record company Dark Age Music.

In 1992, an 18-year-old woman named Suuvi Mariotta Puurunen carried out an arson attack on Johnsson's house on behalf of Norwegian musician Varg Vikernes ; as one of the residents noticed the smoke, the fire could be extinguished before serious damage occurred. Vikernes sent Johnsson a death threat shortly thereafter.

Therion's performance at the 2006 ProgPower Festival in Cheltenham , which ended the band's two-year world tour, was Johnsson's last performance as a Therion singer so far. As a composer and guitarist, he continues to play a key role in Therion.
