Christoph Eugen (born May 28, 1976 in Judenburg ) is a former Austrian Nordic combined athlete and current head coach of the Nordic combined athletes in the Austrian Ski Association .

Career

Christoph Eugen competed in international competitions from 1993 to 2004. After he had become vice world champion at the Junior World Championships in 1993 in Harrachov, Czech Republic, both individually and with the Austrian team, he made his debut in the Nordic Combined World Cup on March 25, 1995 in Sapporo , where he achieved eleventh place. In the following years further competitions followed regularly; his best placings were two second places in team competitions on January 21, 2001 in Park City and on January 9, 2002 in Val di Fiemme .

Eugen started twice at the Winter Olympics: At the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano , he finished fourth with the Austrian team (together with Christoph Bieler , Mario Stecher and Felix Gottwald ), which means they just missed out on a medal. At the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City , he reached 20th place in the Gundersen K90 / 15 km individual competition.

The last competition started on March 7, 2004 as part of a B-World Cup competition in Klingenthal . In April 2012, he took over the post of head coach for Nordic Combined in the Austrian Ski Association as the successor to the Norwegian Baard Jörgen Elden .

Christoph Eugen lived in Salzburg after his career .
