Congress for Democratic Change
The Congress for Democratic Change (abbreviation CDC , German Congress for Democratic Change ) is a Liberian political party that was formed by supporters of George Weah's presidential candidacy in 2005.
In the election of October 11, 2005, Weah made 28.3% of the vote for the first time in the poll for the presidential election. He was defeated by Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of the Unity Party - in the runoff election on November 8, he won 40.6% of the vote compared to Johnson-Sirleaf with 59.4% of the vote.
The party won 3 seats in the Liberian Senate and 15 in the Liberian House of Representatives, making it the country's largest opposition party.
As of February 2018, the party chairman is Nathaniel McGill.
