House of Representatives (Liberia)

The House of Representatives ( English House of Representatives of Liberia ) is the lower house in the bicameral system of Liberia .

73 MPs are elected to the House of Representatives for six years each. The meeting rooms are located in the Capitol Building in the government district of Capitol Hill in the capital Monrovia . Representatives to be sent to the House of Representatives are elected by county. Each of the 15 counties in the country is entitled to a certain number of representatives, which depends on the population of the county:

• Montserrado : 17 seats
• Nimba : 9 seats
• Bong : 7 seats
• Lofa , Grand Bassa , Lofa, and Margibi each have 5 seats
• Gbarpolu , Grand Cape Mount , Bomi , Grand Gedeh , Sinoe , Maryland : 3 seats
• Grand Kru , River Gee : 2 seats each
