The GDR ice hockey championship 1967/68 was held in the major league with a simple round. The shortened season should enable the national team to optimally prepare for the upcoming Games in Grenoble . SC Dynamo Berlin won with a three-point lead relatively clearly over their long-term rivals from Weißwasser and thus made the hat trick perfect.
