DJ Sakin (* 14. June 1971 ; actually Sakin Bozkurt ) is a German Trance - DJ and music producer of Turkish descent.

life and career

Sakin Bozkurt was born in Turkey but grew up in Germany. At the age of 16 he began to work as a DJ. In 1990 he became resident DJ at Club Wartburg in Wiesbaden and later also in the Music Hall in Frankfurt . His first production What Is House? he published in 1994 on the label Liquid Records by Torsten Stenzel .

In 1998 he founded the music project DJ Sakin & Friends together with Torsten Stenzel and the singer Janet Taylor . Her debut single Protect Your Mind was a great success and reached number 4 in the British and number 3 in the German single charts. In Germany the single achieved gold status and was nominated at the Echo Awards 1999 in the category "National Dance Single of the Year". The song is a trance version of James Horner's theme song for Mel Gibson's film Braveheart . The successor single Nomansland again achieved numerous chart placements. This song contained samples of classical music by the Romanian film composer Vladimir Cosma . In 1999 the trio released their debut album Walk on Fire .
