Daniel Parker (born before 1984) is a makeup artist and special effects artist .

Life

Parker began his career in film crew in 1984 with Roger Youngs action movie Deadly double game with Tom Selleck and Jane Seymour in the lead roles. Parker subsequently specialized in prostheses in addition to hairstyles and makeup and worked under such renowned directors as Steven Spielberg , Kenneth Branagh , Richard Attenborough , Michael Apted , Michael Cimino and Blake Edwards . 1995 he was responsible for Kenneth Branagh's film adaptation Mary Shelley's Frankenstein , along with Paul Engelen and Carol Hemming for the Oscar in the category Best Makeup and Best hairstyles nominated, but the award went this year to Tim Burton's tragic comedy Ed Wood . For Cloud Atlas , Parker received the German Film Award in 2013 in the Best Make-Up Image category .

In addition to his film engagements, Parker has also worked in television, including the television series Band of Brothers - We Were Like Brothers , LazyTown and Marco Polo . He was nominated for a Primetime Emmy in 2002 for Band of Brothers . In 2003 he received a British Academy Television Award for his work on the British - American television film Churchill - The Gathering Storm .
