Darulete ( Durulete ) is an East Timorese Suco in the administrative office of Liquiçá ( Liquiçá municipality ).

Before the 2015 territorial reform, Darulete had an area of ​​7.75 km². Now it is 6.98 km². The Suco is to the east of the Liquiçá administrative office. To the northeast is the Suco Luculai , to the west the Sucos Dato and Leotala and south of the Suco Açumanu . In the southeast Darulete borders the administrative office of Bazartete with its Suco Leorema . Part of the border with Açumanu is the Caicabaisala River , which is part of the Lóis system . At the northern tip of Darulete the Caray flows into the Gaulara . They are headwaters of the Gularkoo .

In the north of Darulete are the villages of Carulema ( Carolema ), Nunturi and Caileli ( Caelili ) and in the southeast the places Lebu-Ae ( Leboai , Lebo-ae , Lebui ), Manupatia ( Manufatia ) and Fahate . In Lebu-Ae there is a medical station and a primary school, the Escola Primaria Darulete .

In the Suco there are the four Aldeias Caileli , Carulema , Lebu-Ae and Manupatia .

Residents

1872 inhabitants live in the Suco (2015), of which 932 are men and 940 women. The population density is 268.4 inhabitants / km². There are 284 households in the Suco. Over 65% of the population give Tokodede as their mother tongue. Almost 21% speak Mambai and 13% speak Tetum Prasa .

history

In April 1999, the inhabitants of Darulete and other sucos were forcibly deported to Vila de Liquiçá . Here they were forced to use intimidation and abuse to support the autonomy solution in the independence referendum , which provided for East Timor to remain with Indonesia . If they did not flee, men were forcibly recruited into the militia . In addition, people had to raise the flag of Indonesia and set up guard posts. Girls and young women had to dance at militia celebrations.

On July 9, 2009, the four Aldeias in Suco Darulete put an end to their hostility, which had existed since the riots in 2006 , with an official peace ceremony.

In the elections of 2004/2005 was Napoleão dos Santos elected Chefe de Suco and in 2009 re-elected.
