Life is cruel is the first album by the Leipzig band Die Prinzen and was released on September 9, 1991.

background

After Tobias Künzel had joined the Prinzen predecessor band Herzbuben and the five called themselves Die Prinzen from now on , the single Gabi and Klaus was released in May 1991 . In September of the same year, the group's debut album followed, produced by Annette Humpe .

With their debut album, the five singers successively achieved the gold record for 250,000 albums sold, the platinum record (500,000), triple gold (750,000) and finally double platinum for 1.2 million records .

The princes also released an a cappella version of this album. The rapper Bass Sultan Hengzt covered the title Millionaire in 2006 , in the same year the dance project Groove Coverage brought out a version of Man in the Moon with On the Radio .
