David E. Blewitt

David E. Blewitt (born August 7, 1928 in Los Angeles , California - † July 8, 2010 in Sherman Oaks , California) was an American film editor .

Life

Blewitt began working in the film business as a cameraman and assistant editor in 1963/1964 for the television series Hollywood and the Stars . In both functions he was mainly involved in various documentaries until the 1970s .

For his contribution as editor of the television documentary The Making of a President: 1964 Blewitt received an Emmy in 1966 . In 1975 and 1978 Blewitt received the Eddie Award from the American Cinema Editors .

In 1983, Blewitt received an Oscar nomination in the Best Editing category for the film The Grand Finale . In 2005 he was honored with the ACE Career Achievement Award .

Blewitt died as a result of complications from his illness, Parkinson's disease . He was married and had one daughter.
