Dean Cain (born Dean George Tanaka ; born July 31, 1966 in Mount Clemens , Michigan ) is an American actor . He participated in many television and cinema productions. He had his most famous role as Clark Kent in the television series Superman - The Adventures of Lois & Clark .

Life

His parents, actress Sharon Thomas and US Army member Roger Tanaka, divorced before he was born. His mother later married director Christopher Cain , who adopted him, and moved to Malibu, California .

His athletic talent was already evident at Santa Monica High School. When he graduated in 1984, he turned down 17 athletic scholarships to study at Princeton University , where he became captain of the volleyball team .

Cain graduated from Princeton in 1988 and joined the Buffalo Bills , a football team in the NFL , but a knee injury during practice ended his football career before it really started. He then began screenwriting and acting, and appeared on dozen of commercials and television shows, including Grapevine , College Fever, and Beverly Hills, 90210 . In 1993, Cain took on the role of Superman in the television series of the same name, which ran until 1997. His work includes more than 140 film and television productions.

In 1998, Cain, the production company Angry Dragon Entertainment , the television series Ripley's Believe It Or Not by TBS Super Station produced.
