action

Mary Walsh accompanies her friend Kevin Peterson to the hospital for an outpatient operation. After being told the operation will only take an hour, she joins Cooper, an elderly man who is visiting his wife, in the cafeteria. After they have talked for a while, Mary wants to check on her boyfriend, but when she enters the room, he has disappeared without a trace. Sick of worry, she asks every nurse in the hospital about Kevin, but no nurse has seen him. She is even more astonished that he was not listed in the hospital register. As if he had never been here.

Slowly pursued by madness, she turns to the hospital manager. She meets the police detective Franklin, who is in the hospital for a check-up. When there is no evidence that Kevin is staying, Mary is referred to the hospital psychiatrist, Dr. Markus Bensley, handed over. He interprets her behavior as psychological distress because of the death of her mother, who died of blood poisoning in a hospital. Mary becomes defiant and denies this interpretation. After Bensley leaves the room, she meets Franklin again and the two talk to each other. She forgets her book that her boyfriend brought with her. Franklin gets curious and reads it. Mary is slowly beginning to believe herself that she is crazy until she receives a call from Kevin. He says he's in the hospital somewhere and is being held.

Once again with full confidence that Kevin is here, she continues the search. The security chief tries to catch her and Mary is hit by a car in the parking garage. She survived, but is now in the hospital wake-up ward. Cooper visits her and asks her to transfer $ 10 million to his account so that Kevin can be released. But she only has an hour for this. After she has found a computer with internet access, she starts the transfer. It turns out Kevin isn't who Mary thought he was. He, Cooper, and a fake nurse named Amanda are all in cahoots. After a fight with the security chief and Cooper, she meets Kevin and confronts him. Before he can point his gun at her and wants to pull the trigger, Franklin shoots him. Kevin eventually falls to the ground and is dead.
