Brittany Murphy
Brittany Anne Murphy-Monjack (* 10. November 1977 as Brittany Anne Bertolotti in Atlanta , Georgia , USA ; † 20th December 2009 in Los Angeles , California , USA ) was an American actress , musician and voice actress . She was already in front of the camera for commercials at the age of thirteen. Her international breakthrough came as a supporting actress in films such as Clueless - What Else! and crazy .
Life
Brittany Murphy was born Brittany Bertolotti in Atlanta and grew up in Edison , New Jersey , with her mother Sharon Murphy. Brittany Murphy had Italian roots through her father ; her mother's ancestors came from Ireland . At the age of nine she was already on the stage of regional theaters . Appearances in television commercials followed four years later .
In 2003, Brittany Murphy met her colleague Ashton Kutcher while filming Fully Married , with whom she was subsequently dating. The couple separated after seven months.
On May 5, 2007, Brittany Murphy married screenwriter Simon Monjack .
death
At around 8:00 am local time on December 20, 2009, Brittany Murphy was found unconscious in the shower of her home by her mother Sharon. After unsuccessful attempts at resuscitation by the rescue workers who had been summoned, her death was found in the hospital at 10:04 a.m. Heart failure was given as the cause of death . She was buried in Forest Lawn Memorial Park on December 24, 2009 . On February 4, 2010, Los Angeles coroners announced the death was due to pneumonia , multiple medication and iron deficiency anemia . In late July 2010, it was believed that mold may have spread around her home and resulted in her death. After a short time, however, this theory was invalidated by the family of the deceased and examinations by the health department. The final finding of forensic medicine describes her death as a result of improper self-medication against suspected flu, whereby the over-the-counter drugs she took would have made the actual, unrecognized pneumonia worse.
On May 23, 2010, her widower, Simon Monjack, was found dead in his Hollywood home. He, too, was initially diagnosed with heart failure as the cause of death, and he was also found unconscious by Brittany's mother, Sharon. Monjack was buried next to his wife in Los Angeles on May 27, 2010.
Brittany's father Angelo Bertolotti repeatedly voiced public doubts about the official cause of death. In 2013 he claims to have proven by means of a toxicological report that both Brittany and her husband were poisoned with heavy metals. A few weeks later, he suspected that his ex-wife had poisoned Sharon, Brittany's mother, her daughter and son-in-law out of greed in order to be able to dispose of the actress's fortune as sole heir. University of Florida toxicologist Bruce Goldberger said that since no lines were found on the actress' fingernails, heavy metal poisoning is unlikely, which is an important characteristic of poisoning.
