Demir Demirkan
Demir Demirkan (born August 12, 1972 in Adana , Turkey ) is a Turkish musician and actor .
Life
During his school days in Ankara and Izmir he had his first successes with the band Pentagram . After leaving school, he first studied English and social sciences, then from 1992 at the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles .
After returning to Istanbul in 1996, further albums with Pentagram followed
Between 1997 and 1999 he produced two albums for Şebnem Ferah and a duet by Sertab Erener and Ricky Martin . In 2000 Demirkan's solo debut was released with Sony Music Turkey. In the same year he took on his first roles in two Turkish television films.
The second solo album was released in 2002, in connection with an extensive tour in Turkey.
Demirkan played the main role in the series "Beşi Bir Yerde", the Turkish version of the cult series " Party of Five " and contributed the theme song . In 2003 he wrote and produced the song "Every Way That I Can", which, interpreted by Sertab Erener, brought Turkey the victory at the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest . He was named Turkish Man of the Year in 2003 and becomes the model for the Turkish Lee Jeans campaign.
Demirkan's third album "Istanbul 2004" was released in July 2004 by Ulftone Music in Europe.
In 2005 he wrote the score for the film "Gelibolu" by Tolga Örnek
His album "Ateş Yağmurunda Çırılçıplak" was released in 2007.
In June 2009 he released the album "Painted on Water" with Sertab Erener.
In 2011 he released the album "Biriz" together with Sertab, Aynur Doğan and the Antakya Medeniyetler Korusu . He wrote the score for the film Zenne Dancer together with Paolo Poti .
In 2012 he released a best-of album.
