German AIDS Society

The German AIDS Society , or DAIG for short , is a medical association for HIV / AIDS based in Wiesbaden .

It was founded in 1986. President is Georg MN Behrens . It has 250 full members and 7 supporting members (as of 2016). The DAIG is a member of the Working Group of Scientific Medical Societies .

Among other things, the association organizes the German-Austrian AIDS Congress. It publishes therapy and prophylaxis guidelines. The projects include the documentation of anonymized data on the course of pregnancies of infected mothers in order to improve care. It awards various prizes, including the German AIDS Prize .
