German championship 1930/31

The twenty-fifth German football championship brought FC Bayern Munich to its first title . After several mostly disappointing attempts, the Munich team achieved the big hit with a 2-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt . It was the successful revenge for the defeat six weeks earlier in the final of the southern German championship, in which both teams had faced each other before. It was the third purely southern German final after the 1920 and 1925 seasons .

Otherwise it was a season of surprises. Defending champion Hertha BSC did not reach the championship finals, nor did last year's finalist TSV 1860 Munich . There were a large number of newcomers to the finals such as Borussia Fulda , Minerva 93 Berlin , the Plauener SuBC , SV Hindenburg Allenstein , PSV Chemnitz or Viktoria Stolp .

The global economic crisis kept Germany firmly under control, the number of viewers continued to fall and the Nazis' takeover of power was already beginning to show.

The competing associations held championships for the last time. When ATSB won for the second time the team of TSV Nuremberg-East , while the Rotsport the FT Jeßnitz won the title. At the DJK , after a five-year break, a master was played out again; As before the interruption, the DJK Sparta Nürnberg won the title .
