Die Darufgänger is an Austrian cover band of hit and folk music from Southeast Styria .

Band history

Die Darufgänger was founded in 2001 as a youth band. At the beginning a pure cover band , the group turned to parodies. In the course of its eventful history, the line-up changed several times. At first they played mainly at village festivals in the vicinity. They became known in 2007 through an appearance at the Grand Prix of Folk Music , where they reached the final.

This was followed by appearances in the Musikantenstadl and at Wenn die Musispiele Open Air as well as at the casting show Herz von Österreich .

In 2014 they had their first chart hit with Lasst sie's umma at number 43 in the Austrian charts.

They made their final breakthrough in 2016 with the song Die hectare hat , an unofficial cover version of Kerstin Otts Die immer laughs . The song reached 1.5 million views on YouTube until Kerstin Otts management withdrew their permission and blocked the song on YouTube. The band was not deterred, however, and followed up with Die hectare hat 2.0 , an official version of Nik P. s Gloria . A folk music version of Holz by the 257ers followed .

In 2017 they released the frivolous song Gina Lisa (play with your bells) . The first hectare party was then held on March 17, 2017, which attracted around 1,000 spectators. This was followed by Pocahontas by AnnenMayKantereit and Despacito by Luis Fonsi .

Her album #Hektarparty was finally released on September 14, 2018 , which became a number one hit in her home country Austria . The album reached number 46 in the German charts and number 57 in Switzerland.In 2019, the band covered the songs Gina-Lisa by Lorenz Büffel and Gina-Lisa Lohfink as well as Schach Matt by Roland Kaiser , which was released on November 1, 2019 at Universal Music Group appeared as a single.
