Setting

Set in the United States in the 1980s, the series deals with the life of the fictional Goldberg family, loosely based on the family of series creator Adam Goldberg. The youngest son of the Goldberg family, Adam, films life with a video camera. The series is enriched with video recordings of the real Goldberg family, which the series author Adam F. Goldberg shot of his family.

Exact dates are not given for the individual episodes (“something in the 80s”), but dates can be “researched” through music and historical events such as the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Di. In addition, the episodes of the respective seasons are filmed in a non-chronological order.

The story is told by a voiceover by Adam, who is now grown up.

action

Beverly Goldberg, housewife and mother, is married to furniture salesman Murray and has three children with him. Barry and Erica are in the throes of puberty. Adam is a little younger and documents his family's life with a video camera. He receives help in all matters of life from his maternal grandfather Albert Solomon.

The German dubbing is based on dialogue books by Carsten Bengelsdorf, Tanja Schmitz and Sigrid Scheurer and directed by Michael Pan by the dubbing company VSI Synchron in Berlin .
