The literatures of the East in individual representations

The Literature of the East in Individual Representations is a book series dedicated to the literatures of the East . The concept of the East is broadly defined and extends from Polish literature to Chinese. It was published by Amelang Verlag in Leipzig from 1901 to 1920 . Leading experts of the time contributed to it. It comprises 10 volumes with several sub-volumes and contains works on Polish , Russian , Hungarian , Romanian , Byzantine and modern Greek literature, on Turkish modernism , Czech literature , on the older South Slavic literatures , on Persian , Arabic , and ancient Hebrew literature ( apocrypha and pseudoepigraphs ), the Christian literatures of the Orient ( Syrian and Christian-Arab , Armenian , Coptic , Ethiopian literature ), to Chinese , Indian and Japanese literature .
