The seaside resort of Diedrichshagen is a district of the Hanseatic city of Rostock on the Baltic Sea .
Geographical location
Diedrichshagen is located about 11 km northwest of the historic core of the city of Rostock. The place borders in the east-northeast on the Rostock district of Warnemünde , in the southeast on the district Lichtenhagen and in the southwest on the district Elmenhorst of the municipality of Elmenhorst / Lichtenhagen .
Immediately north of the village is the Diedrichshäger Land conservation area . The Stoltera nature reserve is directly connected to this in the north , a steep coast that is over 20 m high in places with a narrow coastal forest along the Baltic Sea. Overall, the air line between the town center and the Baltic Sea is one kilometer.
To the east of the village is the Diedrichshäger Moor , which is up to 2 m below sea level ( NN ). Furthermore, the district borders in the east on the cemetery of Warnemünde and on the moat up to the Laak Canal (border to Lichtenhagen), on which the district borders in the south.
In the west of the village, rows of birch and poplar trees that characterize the landscape were planted to protect the orchards.
history
The village of Diedrichshagen was founded in 1771.
On March 8, 1934, the village was incorporated into the Hanseatic city of Rostock.
In 1996 the Rostock districts of Warnemünde, Markgrafenheide , Hohe Düne and Diedrichshagen were given the title of "state-approved seaside resort".
economy
In Diedrichshagen, tourism plays an important role due to its proximity to the Baltic Sea. There are numerous hotels and holiday apartments in town. The Stoltera is designated as a nature reserve and made accessible to tourism by means of a coastal footpath and two educational trails with astronomical and natural history topics. The Baltic Sea Cycle Route also runs through the Stoltera.
There are also wind turbines and a solar park in town. Otherwise, the district is more agricultural with vegetables, grain and fruit growing.
The Warnemünde golf course is also located between Diedrichshagen and Elmenhorst.
traffic
Diedrichshagen is connected to Rostock-Warnemünde via the L 12 in the northeast and there via the Rostock city motorway B 103 in the direction of Rostock center and to the A 20 . In a south-westerly direction, the L 12 runs via Elmenhorst, Bad Doberan and Kühlungsborn to Wismar .
In the district there are also two bus stops of the Rostocker Straßenbahn AG (RSAG), via which you can reach the districts of Warnemünde and Lichtenhagen as well as the S-Bahn stations Warnemünde-Werft and Lichtenhagen with good connections to Rostock-City.
