The Doktor-Eisenbarth-Schule consists of the Doktor-Eisenbarth- Grundschule and the Doktor-Eisenbarth- Mittelschule in Oberviechtach in the administrative region of Upper Palatinate in the administrative district of Schwandorf in the border region to the Czech Republic .
School profile
The school was divided into an elementary school and a middle school (formerly Hauptschule ), but at the beginning of the 2016/2017 school year it was split into an independent elementary school and a middle school, each with its own school management. The primary school currently has nine classes and offers the following offers: German remedial courses, German preliminary courses, close cooperation with the kindergartens (Pullenried, Oberviechtach) and the all-day school, working groups, big band, extended lunchtime supervision and homework supervision.
The middle school currently has 20 classes with the following offers: German remedial courses, working groups, all-day school and cooperations, behavior and dance courses. Students from the following municipalities are taught at the Doktor-Eisenbarth-Schule: Oberviechtach, Gleiritsch , Niedermurach , Winklarn , Schönsee , Stadlern , Teunz and Weiding .
All-day care
The Doctor Eisenbarth School Oberviechtach was one of the first schools in the region to offer all-day care for pupils. Open all-day care is available from fifth to tenth grade. The full-day care is tied to a grade and is offered in several classes.
Comenius project 2008–2010
The Comenius project was a multilateral partnership between four schools from four EU countries:
- Secondary school Peilstein (Austria)
- Zakladn skola Pobezovice (Czech Republic), with whom a school partnership has existed since 2000
- K. Fischnaler Middle School (South Tyrol / Italy)
- Doctor-Eisenbarth-School-Oberviechtach (Germany)
"Overcoming borders - preserving culture" was the title. The objective was the planning, production, presentation and distribution of a yearbook with typical regional recipes, songs and literary texts. The yearbook, which has around 200 pages and is illustrated in color, can be obtained from the school.
Comenius project 2010–2012
The Comenius project is continued in the sporting sector. “Sport without borders - with fistball, UNI hockey and athletics” is the title of the project with partner schools from Austria and the Czech Republic.
Czech language courses
Since 2000, a "Czech working group" has been offered by Czech language teachers at the Doctor Eisenbarth School in Oberviechtach.
Wind class
In the third and fourth grades, students have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument in a wind class. After the wind class, the musicians can play in the DESO big band.
Educational offers
Various educational offers such as youth social work in schools and mediators are an integral part of the Doctor Eisenbarth School in Oberviechtach. This also includes the SMV (student co-responsibility), school paramedics, bus guides, student guides and advice from a school psychologist at the school. Since 2007 there has been a cooperation with the "Oberviechtacher Werkstätten", which belong to the "Naab workshops". This is a recognized workshop for disabled people.
Career orientation
One focus is on the area of professional orientation. The Doctor Eisenbarth School was the first approved ECDL test center in the Schwandorf district. The school works closely with the "SchuleWirtschaft" working group and the Bavarian economy. Several student companies prepare the students for the professional world. Various job-related projects ( Kolping-Bildungswerk Schwandorf ) and regular career orientation seminars ( youth training center Waldmünchen ) help to find a job . The Schwandorf education fair (learning region) and close cooperation with the employment agency (BIZ: Berufsinformationszentrum ) are an integral part of the career orientation offer of the Doctor Eisenbarth School. Career choice seminars initiated by the school with companies from the region and company internships based on the curriculum complete the offer. In August 2011 a cooperation with the "Vocational School Oberviechtach" begins.
Awards
As part of a project for healthy eating, the Doctor Eisenbarth School received the Adelholzner Förderpreis . The school newspaper "Eisenbarth-Kurier" and the online version of the newspaper were among the award winners several times. At the founding game of the Hans Lindner Foundation , the school was recognized several times as regional winner and also as the overall winner of the competition. Teams from the Doctor Eisenbarth School repeatedly provided the Upper Palatinate master in volleyball and handball . In 2017, students at the Doktor-Eisenbarth Mittelschule became Bavaria's best "technology scouts" after they had prevailed against 118 Bavarian student teams from all types of schools who took part in the career orientation competition of the Bavarian Business School.
Support association
To support the educational mission of the school, a sponsorship association was founded in 2006 . This association promotes many activities that enrich school life. This makes some things financially possible that otherwise could not be implemented.
history
The current school building was built in 1963/64. A general renovation of the building took place between 2009 and 2011.
In 1965 the school was named after Johann Andreas Eisenbarth ("Doktor Eisenbarth", 1663–1727), who was born in Oberviechtach , a craft surgeon , surgeon and star engraver .
Restructuring 2016
At the beginning of the 2016/2017 school year, the Doctor Eisenbarth School was reclassified into an independent elementary school with its own school management and an independent middle school with its own school management.
