Dominic Deville

Dominic Deville (* 1975 in Munich ) is a Swiss comedian and punk musician . Since 2016 he has hosted the late night show Deville on SRF 1 .

Life

At the age of six, Deville came to Lucerne in 1981 . In 1988 he came into contact with the punk scene . In his youth he was a singer in various bands. Deville trained as a kindergarten teacher in Lucerne and worked in this profession from 1996 to 2000.

From 2000 to 2003 he stayed in Berlin , where he worked as an educator and pursued other activities, including as a radio play author. After returning to Switzerland, he wrote plays and columns, among other things . He moderated and founded an event agency and a punk band. In 2008 the Canton of Lucerne awarded him a work prize.

In 2010 Dominic Deville moved to the Zurich area and returned to kindergarten. In line with this, his first solo program in 2012 was called “Kinderschreck”. In addition to the cabaret, he appeared in television programs such as “Comedy from the Laboratory” and “ Giacobbo / Müller ”.

In the summer of 2015, he appeared in the role of captain of the “water lily” as an entertainer at the anniversary festival for 200 years of tourism in Central Switzerland . Chief author and director of the program "Man overboard!" was Patrick Karpiczenko, with whom he has also worked as the presenter of the late night show since 2016. This is recorded for SRF in the “Mascotte” club in Zurich. In the spring of 2016, it was broadcast on a trial basis by SRF along with two other comedy formats. It was the only format that remained in the program. According to a media report, Deville would have the potential to succeed Viktor Giacobbo .

In 2019 he was one of the contributors to the cross-European music video Do they know it's Europe .
