Dominik Bielke (born October 23, 1990 in Berlin ) is a former German ice hockey player who was three times German champion with the Eisbären Berlin . His father René Bielke is considered the best goalkeeper in the history of ice hockey in the German Democratic Republic .

Career

Bielke began his career in the offspring of the Eisbären Berlin, where he was active with the junior team in the German youth league in the 2005/06 season . A season later he was in the squad of the Eisbären Juniors Berlin , with whom he played in the league from then on . There he came only three missions and played mostly in the DNL. During the 2007/08 season he was a member of the regular squad and was able to secure relegation to the league with the Eisbären Juniors.

In the 2008/09 season , the left-handed shooter was called up for the first time by Don Jackson in the professional team of the Eisbären Berlin. There he came on seven missions in which he could achieve a scorer point . To the great surprise he was selected after the end of the season in the NHL Entry Draft 2009 in the seventh round in 207th place by the San Jose Sharks . From August 2009 he played the 2009/10 season with a license for the Dresdner Eislöwen in the 2nd Bundesliga . In the following season Bielke made the breakthrough in the DEL. In September 2010 he won the European Trophy with the polar bears and then the German championship. Due to a torn cruciate ligament, Bielke was only able to play four main round games in the 2011/12 season. Nevertheless, with his comeback in the final of the play-offs, he was able to help his team to win the championship. Bielke celebrated another championship in the 2012/13 season.

In the 2013/14 season, Bielke was under contract with EHC Red Bull Munich , but did not play a single game for the club due to an injury. In August 2014, he ended his career due to his injuries.

International

On an international level, Bielke took part with the German U18 national team in the U18 Junior World Cup in Russia in 2008 , where the team failed 4-1 in the quarter-finals against the United States . In the game for fifth place, the team from Finland could just be defeated 4: 3. Bielke played six games and scored an assist . A year later he was part of the squad of the German U20 selection in the U-20 World Youth Championship in Canada's Ottawa and came as recently nominated fielder to six inserts.

A year later he was used in the U20 Junior World Championship of Division I in 2010 . In doing so, the selection team managed to return to the top division directly.
