Don Lessem

Don "Dino" Lessem (* 1951 ) is an author of popular science books on dinosaurs .

Lessem studied art history at Brandeis University and ethology at the University of Massachusetts Boston . After studying he did research at the Smithsonian , where his writing career began. During a stay at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1988, his interest in paleontology developed . He published his first book in the field, Kings of Creation, in 1990.

Lessem worked as a consultant for the film Jurassic Park and for the corresponding theme parks. The Lessemsaurus dinosaur is named after him. He is the founder of the Dinosaur Society and the Jurassic Foundation, which raise funds for dinosaur research.
