Duško Tošić ( Cyrillic : Душко Тошић) [ duʃkɔ tɔʃitɕ ] (born January 19, 1985 in Orlovat , Yugoslavia ) is a Serbian football player . The defender has been under contract with Guangzhou R&F since 2018 . In addition to the position as a left full-back, Tošić can also be used in central defense.
Career
society
Tošić grew up in the village of Orlovat near Zrenjanin , where he started playing football at the local football club FK Proleter at the age of ten . In 2002 he moved to OFK Belgrade . He played a total of 80 games there, scoring 6 goals before moving to FC Sochaux in January 2006 . He became a regular there and won the trophy in 2007 .
For the 2007/08 season Tošić moved to Werder Bremen . He received a contract until 2011. After participating in the 2008 Summer Olympics , he could no longer play his way back into the team and should be loaned to MSV Duisburg during the winter break of the 2009/10 season . Since Tošić canceled the move despite the promise, Werder Bremen dissolved the contract with him on February 1, 2010.
Shortly afterwards he was supposed to sign a contract with the English first division club Portsmouth FC . Since Portsmouth FC has financial difficulties, the club was not allowed to sign any new players and therefore Tošić was not allowed to sign a contract. In late March 2010, he signed a loan contract until the end of the season with English second division team Queens Park Rangers .
Since summer 2010 he has been under contract with Red Star Belgrade . He was loaned to Betis Sevilla for one year in the summer of 2011 , but this loan deal was already terminated after six months.
For the 2012/13 season Tošić moved to the Turkish Süper Lig to the capitals of Gençlerbirliği Ankara .
In the summer of 2015 moved to league rivals Beşiktaş Istanbul on a free transfer . With this club he became Turkish champions twice in a row and reached the last sixteen of the Champions League in the 2017/18 season .
For the 2018/19 season he moved to the Chinese club Guangzhou R&F for a transfer fee of € million .
National team
Tošić made his international debut for the senior team of Serbia on November 15, 2006 in a 1-1 draw against Norway. On October 17, 2007, he scored his first and only international goal in a 6-1 win against Azerbaijan .
He was active with the U-21s at the 2007 European Championship in the Netherlands , where he became vice European champion. With Serbia he also took part in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing . In 2018 he took part in the World Cup with Serbia . Here he was used in the 1-0 win against Costa Rica and the 1-2 defeat against Switzerland . Serbia was eliminated after the preliminary round. The game against Switzerland was also Tošić's last international match.
