Eckart Lange (music teacher)

Eckart Lange (born November 19, 1947 ) is a German music teacher .

Live and act

Eckart Lange studied school music and music theory (with Gert Frischmuth among others ) at the Liszt School of Music Weimar and passed the state examination in 1970 . He studied choral conducting at the Hanns Eisler Music Academy in Berlin and graduated in 1983 with a diploma . Then he was a teacher of music at Extended Secondary School in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and then a research assistant for music teaching at the University of Greifswald . He was a member of the working group "Sing ability" of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of the GDR and in 1986 in Greifswald with the work to develop the singing ability in the high school level doctorate .

He then went to Thuringia and was deputy director of the Heinrich Schütz House in Bad Köstritz and choir director at the Singakademie der Bühnen der Stadt Gera . In 1988 he became a research and artistic assistant for music history , music theory and musical instrument studies at the Gera branch of the Weimar University of Music. At the time of the change in the GDR he was department head in the Ministry of Culture of the GDR ; in October 1990 he returned to the Weimar Academy of Music and was elected prorector . In 1993 he became professor for music education; In 1996 he was the founding director of the Institute for Music Education and Music Theory.

Eckart Lange has been President of the Regional Music Council of Thuringia since 1994 and a member of the Presidium of the German Music Council since 1996 , from 2000 to 2002 he was its Vice-President. Since 2005 he has been honorary director of the Thuringian State Music Academy in Sondershausen and Chairman of the State Committee on Musical Education; In 2011 he was a founding member of the Thuringia Cultural Council , of which he has been Vice President since then.
