Edin Bašić ( Serbian - Cyrillic Един Башић ; born May 4, 1979 in Zavidovići , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Bosnian-Herzegovinian handball player who is mostly used on the back center . He is married and has a daughter.

Career

The 1.90 m tall and 94 kg heavy right-handed player first played in his home country at HC Borac Travnik. In 1999 he moved to RK Zamet Rijeka. After two seasons he went to Switzerland for TV Endingen . In 2003 he was signed by TV Suhr , where he was twice top scorer in the National League A (NLA). After four years he put on the GC Amicitia Zurich jersey . With Amicitia he won the Swiss championship twice and the cup once. In the 2008/09 EHF European Cup Winners' Cup , he only failed in the semifinals to BM Valladolid . He then moved to the French Ligue Nationale de Handball to Chambéry Savoie HB . There he was runner-up three times and reached the finals of the Coupe de France and Coupe de la ligue 2011. Internationally, he reached the round of 16 in the EHF Champions League 2010/11 and the group stage in the EHF Europa Pokal 2013/14 . Since the summer of 2017 he has been under contract with the French second division club Chartres Métropole Handball 28 .

Edin Bašić made 60 international appearances for the Bosnian-Herzegovinian national team .
