Ehndorf is a municipality in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district in Schleswig-Holstein .

Geography and traffic

Ehndorf is located at the confluence of the Aalbek and the Stör, just a few kilometers west of Neumünster on the edge of the Aukrug Nature Park . The federal motorway 7 runs to the east from Hamburg to Neumünster, to the north the federal highway 430 .

Eight Bronze Age barrows in the municipal area indicate prehistoric settlement.

Medium wave transmitter

From November 1967 to December 2015, Ehndorf was the location of the "Neumünster transmitter", a medium-wave transmitter that broadcast the Deutschlandfunk program on the 1269 kHz frequency with an output of 300 kilowatts. The location is owned by Media Broadcast GmbH .

As a transmitting antenna was a directional antenna , consisting of two 65-meter-high, against earth isolated radiating transmitting poles are used.
