Schülp b. Nortorf is a municipality near the city of Nortorf in Schleswig-Holstein . It is located south of the Borgdorfer See between a sander and moorland in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district .
Geography and traffic
Schülp is about ten kilometers north of Neumünster between the federal highway 205 and the federal highway 7 from Neumünster to Rendsburg .
history
Megalithic graves in the municipality prove that it was inhabited since the Stone Age.
The place was in 1286 as Schullebvi or Sculleby first mentioned. The meaning of the place name has not been finally clarified, but should mean something like "village on the reeds".
During the time of National Socialism there was a branch of the Fuhlsbüttel concentration camp in the Großer Moor, and the prisoners also had to work in the Schülper peat factory.

Schülp has the only black and white coat of arms in Schleswig-Holstein. This renunciation of colorfulness was made at the express request of the municipal council.
