The ice hockey regional league 1992/93 was played out in the form of a group south and a group north .

mode

In the south group , in which 16 teams took part, as in the north group , in which 15 teams took part, there was first the preliminary round played as a single round . Then the participants from the southern group played in places 1 to 6 in the qualification for the Oberliga Süd 1993/94 and from the northern group, the participants in places 1 to 7 in the qualification for the Oberliga Nord 1993/94 , while the remaining participants in the Qualification for Regionalliga Süd 1993/94 or qualification for Regionalliga Nord participated.

Promotion from the regional associations

In the Regionalliga Süd

• ESG Esslingen and ESC Wernau from the Baden-Württemberg League took part in the qualifying round.
• Places 1 to 4 from the Bayernliga took part.

In the Regionalliga Nord

• EC Dorsten and EC Eschweiler from the NRW League took part in the qualifying round.
• Limburger EG took part from the Hessenliga.
• Hamburger SV, EC Nordhorn and TuS Harsefeld participated from the league in the north.

Regionalliga Süd (single round)

• The teams in places 1 to 6 after the preliminary round qualify for the qualification for the Oberliga Süd 1993/94 ;
• the other teams take part in the qualifying round.

• The regional leagues middle, west and north had been combined to form the regional league north.
• The participants in places 1 to 6 qualified for the qualification for the Oberliga Nord . After the 1st Hennef EC Bonn had canceled their team after the preliminary round, the seventh of the Regionalliga Nord moved up into the qualification.
• The other participants take part in the qualification for the Regionalliga Nord.
