Enrico Franzoi

Enrico Franzoi (born August 8, 1982 in Mestre ) is an Italian racing cyclist .

Franzoi won the gold medal in the U23 class race at the Cyclocross World Championships in 2003 . He has made it onto the podium several times in cyclocross world cup races, but has so far been unable to win. At the 2006 World Championships he was seventh. In 2006, 2007 and 2009 he became the Italian cyclocross champion.

After riding the road in 2004 as a stagiaire with the Italian cycling team Saeco , he received a contract with the successor team Lampre , a UCI ProTeam , in 2005 . He stayed there until 2007 and has been driving for smaller teams ever since.

In the course of the doping investigation by the Public Prosecutor of Padua , he was suspected of having been a customer of the controversial sports medicine specialist Michele Ferrari .
