Eon Productions Limited is a British film production company that has produced almost all of the James Bond films to date . Supposedly stands Eon for " E verything o r n othing" (German: all or nothing), which Albert R. Broccoli , however, has always denied.

Emergence

Eon Productions was founded in 1961 to produce the James Bond films by Albert R. Broccoli and Harry Saltzman , after Saltzman secured the filming rights from James Bond author Ian Fleming . It is a subsidiary of Danjaq, LLC , which is responsible for the rights to the “James Bond” brand. They are headquartered at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire , England .

In 1975 Saltzman sold his stake after nine Bond films to United Artists , who acted as the distribution company for the Bond films and from then on also handled the production of the films. Before Albert R. Broccoli died in 1996, his daughter Barbara Broccoli took over the business and has been producing the James Bond films since GoldenEye (1995) together with Albert R. Broccoli's stepson and her half-brother Michael G. Wilson .
