Eric Jensen

Eric Jensen (born February 1, 1970 ) is a Canadian racing driver and racing team owner. He is a son of the racing driver Bruce Jensen .

Racing career

Jensen began his motorsport career in 1992. In 1997 and 1998 he entered one race each of the Indy Lights and remained both races without points. In 1999 he founded the Jensen MotorSport racing team , for which he competed in the Atlantic Championship from this season . From 1999 to 2002 he started a total of 16 races in this championship, but never contested more than half a season. In 2003 he took part in eleven of twelve races in the Atlantic Championship and scored his first points. With an eighth place as the best result, he finished the season in twelfth place. This season was the only one in which Jensen contested over half of the races. In 2004 he again completed half a season in the Atlantic Championship. Eighth place was again his best result and he finished 15th in the championship. In 2005 he only took part in a third of the races. With a fifth place, he achieved his best result in the Atlantic Championship this season and took the 14th championship place.

In 2008 Jensen returned to motorsport as a racing driver for two Atlantic Championship races. He finished the season in 25th place. In 2009 Jensen took part in three races of the last Atlantic Championship season. He finished all races in the top ten pilots and finished twelfth in the championship.

In 2011 Jensen returned to the Indy Lights for a race. He failed to qualify.

Career as a racing team owner

Jensen founded the Jensen MotorSport racing team in 1999 . The racing team was active in the Atlantic Championship from its inception until the end of the 2009 racing series. He has been competing in Indy Lights since 2011. In 2005 the racing team took part in a Champ Car race. Fabrizio del Monte was the team's pilot.
