Erin Hunter

Erin Hunter is a pseudonym for the British authors Kate Cary , Cherith Baldry , Victoria Holmes and Tui Sutherland . They were best known for their Warrior Cats series, every book of which was on the New York Times bestseller list . The Scottish author Gillian Philip has been part of it since 2012, and Inbali Iserles has also been writing under the pseudonym since 2013 .

The storylines are mostly designed by Holmes.

history

In 2003, Harper Collins approached Victoria Holmes and asked her to write a fantasy series about feral cats. However, since she was not a fantasy reader herself, she was not very enthusiastic. After she wrote the plot, Kate Cary was brought in to write the book. Holmes oversaw the details and edited the book. For the third book, Mysteries of the Forest (Warrior Cats), Cherith Baldry came across Erin Hunter. Later, after Tui Sutherland wrote the first Warrior Cats plan book, Sutherland became the fourth Erin Hunter.

When choosing the name, it should be close to the cycle Redwall by Brian Jacques , which had a similar plot to Warrior Cats . One of the authors suggested the name "Hunter" (Eng. Jäger ). Victoria Holmes' preferred first name, Erin, was accepted as a strong Celtic name and not particularly girlish .
