Ernst-Joachim Waschke
Ernst-Joachim Waschke (born October 2, 1949 in Dessau ) is a Protestant theologian , professor emeritus for Old Testament at the theological faculty of the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and chairman of the Leucorea Foundation .
Waschke received her doctorate with a thesis on the image of man in biblical prehistory with Siegfried Wagner in Leipzig and completed his habilitation with a thesis on the concept of the Messiah in the Old Testament. After working as a pastor in Hanshagen and as a university assistant to Hans-Jürgen Zobel in Greifswald , he held the chair for the Old Testament in Halle (Saale) from 1990 to 2015 .
In the science of the Old Testament, in addition to his own work on theological topics of the Old Testament, Waschke is also of importance as a long-time editor of the journal for Old Testament science .
He was Dean of the Faculty of Theology for several years and Vice-Rector for Structure and Finance at the University from 2000 to 2003 . Waschke is currently the Rector's representative for the Reformation anniversary 2017 and a member of the scientific advisory board for the Reformation anniversary, he is also chairman of the board of the Leucorea Foundation in Wittenberg and, as an Old Testament member, a member of the EKD's Theology Chamber . In Halle, Waschke is also the Ephorus of the Reformed Convict .
Ernst-Joachim Waschke lives in Halle (Saale), is married and has three children.
