Estéban Eitler

Estéban Eitler (born June 25, 1913 in Bozen ; † June 25, 1960 in São Paulo , Brazil ) was a Chilean composer , flautist and painter who came from Austria .

Life

Estéban Eitler first studied from 1926 to 1928 with Mario Mascagni , the director of the music school in Bolzano, and from 1930 to 1936 at the music academy in Budapest . After three years of service as a military musician, he became principal flutist with the Budapest Radio and the Budapest Symphony Orchestra. In 1936 he moved to Argentina and became a member of the Filarmónica Metropolitana and Sinfónica Agma. In 1941 he began his composing activity. He became a member of the "Agrupación Nueva Música" and founded the publishing house "Ediciones Musicales Politonia" for new music in Buenos Aires . After moving to Santiago de Chile , he founded the “Tonus” group there. He then moved to Sao Paulo, Brazil, but died unexpectedly early on his 47th birthday. Estéban Eitler was married twice. He left four children. His brother Artur, born in 1914, was a former horn player with the Munich Philharmonic. D. and academic painter in the Haus der Kunst lives and works in Munich.
