The Europabrücke was a rope bridge on the Europaweg in the Mattertal in Switzerland. It opened in July 2010 and was destroyed by a rock fall two months later . Because of the destroyed bridge, hikers had to descend 500 meters into the valley for years and then climb back up on the other side. This made the Europaweg unattractive; the number of users fell.
In July 2017, the Charles Kuonen suspension bridge , which is 200 meters lower, was opened.
