Evangelical Church (Weißenbach)
The Evangelical Lutheran parish church of Weißenbach , a district of Zeitlofs in the Lower Franconian district of Bad Kissingen , is a village church . It belongs to the architectural monuments of Zeitlofs and is registered together with the church courtyard wall under the number D-6-72-166-10 in the Bavarian list of monuments . Here is the seat of the parish Weißenbach in the deanery Lohr am Main . The Detter and Heiligkreuz branches belong to the parish .
history
The village of Weißenbach arose to the east of Weißenbach Castle , an ancestral seat of the Barons von Thüngen , and originally belonged to the original parish of Oberleichtersbach . With the establishment of the parish Zeitlofs in 1453, Weißenbach became the local branch. The village lords introduced the Reformation in Weißenbach in 1553 . The church was built at the beginning of the 17th century. In 1745 Weißenbach was finally separated from Zeitlofs and raised to a parish.
description
The church is a two-story building with a roof turret over the western gable wall . There is a porch in front of this, which serves as an entrance hall. The rectangular church interior is on the upper floor. It has a flat wooden ceiling and three window axes . The windows are segment arcs .
Furnishing
The church is simply furnished. The pews , the cladding of the pulpit and the organ case are made of light wood. The stone altar stands in front of the eastern wall, with a crucifix above it . The font was created around 1700. The organ is set up on the western wall at ground level.
