FIAPF

The FIAPF ( Fédération Internationale des Associations de Producteurs de Films ) is an international industry association for film producers based in Brussels .

Its members are 34 national film producer associations in 27 countries worldwide. From Germany these are the Producers Association and the Alliance of German Producers - Film & Television . From Austria the professional association of the audiovisual and film industry and from Switzerland the Association Suisse des Producteurs de Films .

The Argentine Luis Alberto Scalella has been President of FIAPF since 2009 .

Fields of activity

As an influential non-governmental organization , FIAPF works with organizations such as UNESCO and the World Trade Organization . One of her most urgent tasks is currently the fight against copyright infringement in the film sector.

In addition, FIAPF plays an important role as a regulator of international film festivals . An accreditation with FIAPF is a measure of the international importance of a festival. In 2016, 15 A-festivals were recognized by FIAPF, and in 2015 there were 24 film festivals worldwide with specialized competitions. Accreditations are awarded in the following categories:

  • Film festivals with competition (A festivals)
  • Film festivals with specialized competitions
  • Film festivals without competition
  • Documentary and short film festivals
