Fleur Pellerin (maiden name Kim Jong-suk ; born August 29, 1973 in Seoul ) is a French politician of the Parti Socialiste (PS). From May 2012 to February 2016 she was a member of the government in various functions, most recently as Minister for Culture and Communication since August 2014 .

Life

After attending the Lycée franco-allemand de Buc , Fleur Pellerin, who was adopted by French nationals at the age of six months, studied at the Institut d'études politiques de Paris (IEP de Paris) and at the École supérieure des sciences économiques et commerciales (ESSEC) and both graduated with a diploma . In addition, she completed an apprenticeship at the École nationale d'administration (ENA) and completed this in 2000 as a participant in the class named after the Andalusian-Arab philosopher and doctor Averroes ( Doctorate Averroès ).

After completing her training, between 2001 and 2005 she was a rapporteur for the permanent control commission of the Société de gestion des droits d'autaut (SPRD), the French collecting society for copyright and proprietor rights . After completing this activity, she became an auditor and consultant at the Court of Auditors ( Cour des comptes ) in 2009 . During the cabinet reshuffle on February 11, 2016, she was dismissed as Minister. As a background to the dismissal, it was reported that she had not developed enough new ideas and was too technocratic in her administration.
