The airfield Friedersdorf ( ICAO code : EDCF ) is a special airfield in the village Friedersdorf the municipality Heidesee in the country Brandenburg . The glider club Luftsportclub Interflug Berlin e. V. resident.

The airfield is located about 30 km southeast of Berlin , 15 km east of Königs Wusterhausen .

Only gliding is operated at Friedersdorf airfield . It can only be used after approval by the airport operator ( Prior Permission Required ). Flight operations usually only take place from April to October.

history

The airfield, which opened in 1941 as an air base for the Wehrmacht Air Force , initially housed single-engine training aircraft from the 11th pilot training regiment, which later became the A / B 11 pilot's school . From December 1944 to March 1945, a regular unit was stationed here with the 11th close-up reconnaissance squadron .

At times, parachute jump and agricultural flight were operated at Friedersdorf airfield . Gliding has been practiced since 1961.

Connection

The airfield can be reached via the federal autobahn 12 (exit Friedersdorf), the streets L 39 and L 40, as well as by train from the Friedersdorf train station, which is about 400 m west of the field ( RB 36 : Königs Wusterhausen - Beeskow - Frankfurt (Oder ) ).

Airspace structure

Friedersdorf airfield is located in airspace G. Due to its proximity to Schönefeld Airport , airspace E begins at 1000 ft, and airspace C from 2500 ft (762 m) MSL . An operating agreement with German air traffic control permits limited use of airspace C for aircraft that take off and land at this airfield.

According to DFS planning from 2012, the lower limit of airspace C is to be increased to 3500 ft (1067 m) MSL after Berlin Brandenburg Airport opens.
