Fort Pitt was a trading post of the Hudson's Bay Company (HBC) on the North Saskatchewan River in what is now the Canadian province of Saskatchewan .

It was in 1830 under the direction of the previously Fort Edmonton above John Rowand built and served the trade of buffalo skins , meat and pemmican . He also served the HBC expeditions as the main post between Fort Edmonton and Fort Carlton . Treaty 6 between the Cree and the British Crown was signed in the fort in 1876, and in 1885 it was the site of the Battle of Fort Pitt during the Northwest Rebellion . Today Fort Pitt is used for tourism.
