The Franconian Museum Railway e. V. Nürnberg (FME) is an association whose aim is to keep historic vehicles operational and to use them.

Since January 17, 1996 he has been licensed as a railway company . With his own locomotives, he runs museum trips in southern Germany and neighboring countries as well as regular services. The FME was founded in 1985 in Nuremberg . The aim was to keep the memory of the steam locomotive era alive in this industrial city. Until then there was no such institution apart from the Nuremberg Transport Museum . Even when it was founded, the aim was that the FME would not only be active as a documentary, but above all would like to make the story "understandable" through original vehicles and special trips.
