He made his debut in Osnabrück in 1920 and then played theater in Halberstadt, Stuttgart, Zurich and from the end of 1926 in Berlin. He began his screen career in 1927 with the film Die Frauengasse von Algiers and became a busy supporting actor in movies. During the war it was also used in propaganda films . Schafheitlin mimed negatively drawn figures like Lord Kitchener in Ohm Krüger , Metternich in Bismarck or Ambassador Schuwalow in Die Discharge . After the war he again played mostly men in leadership positions such as Sir Arthur in the television series Raumpatrouille . He was also at home in the medium of radio plays, for example in 1949 in Paul Temple and the Gregory affair and in 1954 in Paul Temple and the Jonathan case (directed by Eduard Hermann ) based on Francis Durbridge with René Deltgen in the title role and Annemarie Cordes as his wife Steve . Also in 1954 worked in the Schafheitlin as a street sweeper designated Kinderhörspielpreis Master Detective Bill Bergson on the novel by Astrid Lindgren as Uncle Einar with. In the moderation of the program, his name is wrongly given as Schafheitl e in , which was taken over by many media without reflection. The young Eva Pflug , who, like Schafheitlin, took part in the television series Raumpatrouille in 1966, also took part in the radio play . In 1959 he was allowed, my name is Cox - Murder on luggage ticket 3311 by Rolf and Alexandra Becker with Erwin Linder as Paul Cox back on the cast list. In 1966 he was heard for a third time in a Paul Temple radio play, namely in the SR production Paul Temple and the Geneva case, directed by Wilm ten Haaf .
