Franz Erwin Paul Schafheitlin (born August 9, 1895 in Berlin ; † February 6, 1980 in Pullach near Munich ) was a German actor .

biography

Schafheitlin was the son of the mathematics teacher and lecturer Paul Schafheitlin . He made his debut in Osnabrück in 1920 and then played theater in Halberstadt, Stuttgart, Zurich and from the end of 1926 in Berlin. He began his screen career in 1927 with the film Die Frauengasse von Algiers and became a busy supporting actor in movies. From 1930 to 1936 Schafheitlin worked at the Vienna Volkstheater , then he returned to Berlin.

During the war it was also used in propaganda films . Schafheitlin mimed negatively drawn figures like Lord Kitchener in Ohm Krüger , Metternich in Bismarck or Ambassador Schuwalow in Die Discharge . After the war he again played mostly men in leadership positions such as Sir Arthur in the television series Raumpatrouille .
