Franz Wörle
Franz Ferdinand Wörle (* 1952 in Munich ; † 2020 in Grafing- Straussdorf) was a German sculptor who mainly worked with iron . He lived and worked in Grafing-Straussdorf near Munich. Franz Ferdinand Wörle first studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich under L. Kornbrust and A. Gangkofner; Graduated with a diploma. He worked as a freelance artist and was a member of the Neue Münchner Künstlergenossenschaft.
For his works, which are exhibited nationally and internationally, Franz Ferdinand Wörle received several awards and grants:

- 1989 Art Prize of the City of Ebersberg
- 1999 Dr. Stöcker Kulturstiftung Rosenheim
- 2008 Tyron Guthrie Art Center, Annaghmakerring House, Ireland
- 2015 European work grant Lviv (Lemberg), Ukraine
- 2016 Water Lily Prize of the City of Munich
- 2017 European work grant Oronsko, Poland.
- 2018 SculpturePark Art Prize of the City of Günzburg
- 2018 Schäfer Art Prize Schwabmünchen
As a memorial to the victims of the train accident in Bad Aibling, its massive, three-meter-high stele made of rusty iron reminds of railroad tracks and symbolizes a gate from life to death.
