The woman cave is a natural basalt - cave near the Lower Franconian municipality Hausen in the district of Rhön-grave field in Bavaria .

It is also called Klefalls or Klefallsloch . It was created by the earth's displacement. It can be found in the catchment area of ​​the Eisgraben .

Location & geology

This cave is a little off the top left of the ice rift. It originated in the basalt that is predominant in the Lange Rhön. In 1965, two caves were discovered in addition to the original cave, which until then consisted of only one passage. In 1972 it was discovered that the system consisted of a number of crevices, some spills and two cavities.

According to a legend , the Fraulein from the nearby Hildenburg and her maids with their treasures sought protection in it. According to legend, they escaped there through a passage, but did not reach the cave. Hence their treasures were never found.
