Fruela II.

Fruela II the leper (* around 875, † 925 ) was king of Asturias and León . He inherited parts of the Kingdom of Asturias after the death of his father Alfons III. of Asturias in 910, when the original kingdom was divided and his eldest brother García received the most significant part with the new kingdom of León .

Fruela ascended the throne of León in 924 after his second brother Ordoño II , who had received Galicia in 910 and succeeded García I in León in 914, died. Asturias became part of León. Fruela II died in 925. His son Alfonso Froilaz succeeded him to the throne in León, but was unable to defend it for long against the sons of Ordoños II, his cousins.
