The 2011/12 season of the Lower Saxony Oberliga was the 65th season of the Lower Saxony Football League and the fourth as the fifth-highest division in Germany. It started with the first game day on August 6, 2011 and ended with the last game day on June 3, 2012.

The champions and promoted to the regional league was the Goslarer SC 08 with four points ahead of BV Cloppenburg . In addition to Goslar, Cloppenburg, VfB Oldenburg and BSV Rehden also rose directly into the regional league. The SV Holthausen / Biene failed in two promotion games against a representative of the Schleswig-Holstein League , the ETSV Weiche , on possible promotion.

Although no relegated athletes were planned, three teams were relegated to the national leagues . Kickers Emden and Eintracht Nordhorn had to file for bankruptcy during the season and were therefore forced to relegate. The VSK Osterholz-Scharmbeck waived its place in the league despite athletic qualification.

SV Drochtersen / Assel , 1. FC Germania Egestorf / Langreder , SSV Jeddeloh and Lupo Martini Wolfsburg rose from the national leagues as the respective season winners in the major league. In a promotion round of the runners-up, TuS Celle FC prevailed and was the fifth promoted team.

The top scorer was Alexander Neumann from TSV Ottersberg with 20 goals. The Oberliga Niedersachsen played with 16 teams in the following season .

Promotion round to the league

Due to the missed promotion of SV Holthausen / Biene into the regional league and the waiver of VSK Osterholz-Scharmbeck's place in the upper league, a place in the Lower Saxony upper league became available.

In the promotion round, the third place of the Landesliga Hannover, SV Bavenstedt , the FT Braunschweig as runner-up of the Landesliga Braunschweig, the table third of the Landesliga Lüneburg, TuS Celle FC , and SC Melle 03 as runner-up of the Landesliga Weser / Ems met each other. The third in the table moved up, as the runner-up of the Hanover regional league, TSV Burgdorf , and the Lüneburg regional league, TB Uphusen , waived.

In the first round, Melle met on a neutral place in Heeßel on Braunschweig and Bavenstedt on a neutral place in Hanover on Celle.
