(1) Torsten Frings was banned from FIFA for two games against an Argentine player immediately after the quarter-final match and recorded by the television cameras. One of them was suspended for six months because Frings was not the initiator of the assault, and an appeal was prevented.

Quarters of the team

The players of the German national team and their supervisors were accommodated in the Schlosshotel Grunewald in Berlin . Training took place in the amateur stadium of Hertha BSC and in the Mommsen stadium of Tennis Borussia Berlin .
