Gabriel Héctor Fernández (born September 22, 1977 in Bragado , Buenos Aires Province ), nicknamed Gaby , is a former Argentine football player .
Career
Fernández played for the first time abroad at the age of 18 for the then first division club SC Bastia in France. Then began an eventful career that led him to as many clubs in four countries in South America in 11 years. The offensive player played more than 300 times in the professional leagues in Argentina ( Colegiales , Estudiantes , Flandria ), Chile ( Santiago Morning , Magallanes ), Ecuador ( Deportivo Saquisilí , Olmedo , Emelec ) and Colombia ( Millonarios , Real Cartagena , Atlético Junior ) and scored 141 goals. After his contract with the Ecuadorian CS Emelec from Guayaquil expired , he decided to move to Europe again at the age of 30 and accepted an offer from the German second division club TuS Koblenz . At the beginning of January 2009, his contract with TuS Koblenz was terminated. This was followed by positions at Macará , América de Cali , Deportivo Cali and CSD Flandria . In 2014, he returned to his hometown of Bragado , where he retired from his career in 2016.
